Disco Tehran - Mixtape de la Migración @ MoMA PS1

Disco Tehran is a funky warm dance party and live performance project that connects New York to the era of 1970s discotheques in Tehran. Disco Tehran parties were born out of a small apartment in New York City and rapidly attracted a cult following around the world. Disco Tehran explores groovy household throwbacks and rare music from the Asian continent, Latin America, Africa, and Europe.

In 2020, the Disco Tehran collective collected stories of immigration for their installation at MoMA PS1. These stories were sent to them from all over the world, e.g., Iran, India, Germany, Algeria, the UK, Colombia, or Costa Rica.

To celebrate Nowrouz and the arrival of spring, they presented these stories as a multimedia zine titled «Stories of Immigration» along with a mixtape called «Mixtape de la Migración».

Have fun listening to their great mixtapes!
