Süperfly for jazzhane Kiosk - Episode 05

Growing up in two «Funky Towns» Munich and Istanbul, Tuncay Acar aka Süperfly explores the innermost depths of norientalism by permanently crossing the boundaries of cultural, ethnic, geographical, chronological, fictional regions, and musical genres. The goal is to deconstruct the omnipresent dominance of identity concepts in dance music to make room for unabashed transcultural ecstasy.

He expands his exquisite vinyl collection with digital artifacts from various genres: Kurdish Halay, Gazinomüzik, Arabesk, Anatolian and Arabian Psychedelia, Electro and Hip Hop mashups, edits and remixes of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern psychedelic classics, hit songs from Turkey, Greece, the Middle East, Israel, Egypt, Maghreb, North Africa, the Balkans, and from Memphis/Tennessee amalgamate with a pinch of Latin Boogaloo in the broth of passion and the heat of the Southeast.

The versatile cultural activist, networker, organizer, blogger, Dj, musician, and studied classical archaeologist is also part of the first squad of graffiti pioneers in Europe as «Blash». He blogs at tripdown.de since 2011, and has been recently involved at the Habibi Kiosk program at the Münchner Kammerspiele, where he hosts the monthly talk «Dies Das».
